The economy of the bike

A dynamic sector

According to a study of the European Federation of the cycling, the sector of the bike shows itself a sector supplier of jobs with 650.000 jobs on 27 countries of the EU. The sector of the bike would outstrip the steel industry ( 315.000 jobs) or of the mining industry ( 615.000 jobs). For the European Federation of the cycling, the activities of the cycle economy include the manufacturing, the sale, the maintenance, the tourism, the infrastructures and the logistics. Besides, the intensity in employment of the bike would be particularly important: one account 4,9 employees by one million euros of turnover for the construction of the cycles against 1,6 in the car industry.
